For my entire adult life, I’ve followed a foolproof way to:
- Avoid burnout and exhaustion
- Recharge my batteries
- Kick-off every week with high energy
It all happens on Sundays.
Sundays aren’t just another day for me.
They’re sacred and important.
A deliberate pause that sets the tone for everything else.
Without these 4 things I do every Sunday, I’d be thrashed by Tuesday afternoon.
1. Reflect
I look back at my calendar…
Review how the week ACTUALLY went (vs how I planned it)…
And get honest with myself about what worked and what didn’t.
Things like:
- Where did I spend time that wasn’t high leverage or could have been delegated?
- Which tasks drained my energy vs. gave me energy?
- What decisions did I delay that I should have made sooner?
- What led to my biggest wins this week, and how can I replicate that?

2. Rest
I take a full reset, mentally and physically.
- No workouts.
- No work emails.
- No work obligations.
I give myself permission to stop the daily routines.
We go to church together as a family, have a couple meals together at home, play games, go on a walk, write in journals, etc.
I step away from screens and let my mind wander freely (I write this newsletter during the week).
I remind myself that rest is productive, too.
3. Reset
I write out my goals for the upcoming week…
And get crystal clear on what ACTUALLY matters:
- What are my top priorities that will move the needle?
- What distractions or low-value tasks do I need to cut?
- What structure or systems can I put in place to stay focused?
- How do I want to feel at the end of next week?
4. Reunite
Sundays are for my wife, our five kids, and the friends we worship with at church.
As a kid, I didn’t always appreciate the slower pace of Sundays in our family…
Now?
I crave it.

Having ONE day that’s completely different…
Where you intentionally slow down…
And recharge your batteries…
Allows you to show up STRONG for the other 6 days.
Do you have a day when you take a break and intentionally recharge?
And If so, what does it look like for you? (Reply and let me know!)
If not, it might be time to start.
Here’s to an incredible week,
Chad
P.S. Speaking of family time… Check out the Dollar Wise Podcast episode I did about how I handle Sundays (and every other day) with 5 kids without losing my mind. I even shared the system we use to teach them about money without spoiling them. If you’re trying to balance family + business, you will like this.

P.P.S. If you’re an entrepreneur with $10M or more in liquidity and want to make your money work even harder for you–set up a call with my team, and let’s explore new ways to make that happen.
